During lamps decades that included a unique signature sheet tin, brass and bronze lamp designed Stiffel company : Quality craftsmanship – Stiffel lamps offered exquisite finish, intricate detailing and careful consideration. Department and specialty stores in the United States and Canada led Stiffel lamps.
Polo Stiffel lamp – stiffel floor lamps created the lamp pole which had a vertical pipe with attachment rotation of the outer tube lamp. The Stiffel lamp pole was one of the most popular of the 1940s and 1950s lamps, and is the precursor of the current track lighting : Stiffel demand Sears – In 1957 the Patent Office granted the company US patent Stiffel mechanical and lamp design lamp post. Stiffel Sears sued for patent violation and unfair competition under Illinois law, the burden Sears caused confusion about the creator of the lamp.
Design Public Domain – For lamp pole it reached the Supreme Court of the United States, and in 1964 the Supreme Court ruled unanimously that the patent stiffel floor lamps design was in the public domain. Sears could legally copy.
